TURKMENISTAN BRINGS ITS CITIZENS BACK HOME
Turkmenistan is continuing to work on bringing Turkmen citizens back home from abroad because of the challenging situation caused by the spread of the coronavirus. Our country was one of the first ones to evacuate its citizens from China, where new viral outbreak was detected in December 2019.
On the instruction of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, “Türkmenhowaýollary” Agency organized a series of charter special flights to Beijing, bringing thousands of Turkmen citizens back home. Most of them are students, getting education at the Chinese universities. The costs of the flights were financed by the government of Turkmenistan.
Moreover, “Türkmenhowaýollary” Agency arranged special flights to other areas, and this work continues today – as the embassies and consulates of our country abroad receive applications from the citizens of Turkmenistan, routes are planned and departure dates are determined.
