EXHIBITION AT STATE MUSEUM TO MARK MOTHERLAND DEFENDERS DAY

The State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan is currently running an exhibition to mark the 28th anniversary of the founding of the Armed Forces of independent Turkmenistan.

The creation of Motherland Defenders Day, which is celebrated on January 27, was a token of great trust and confidence, boundless respect and care for servicemen, military and law enforcement personnel, who defend the sovereignty of Turkmenistan, guard its national borders and constitutional form of government, and ensure defense capability, security, public order and the observance of the national laws, the head of state points out in his Congratulatory Address.

The themed exhibition features portraits, unique documents, ethnographic objects, prints, historical rarities that offer visitors insights into the heroic past and military traditions of the Turkmen nation, modern-day neutral Turkmenistan and the implementation of the Military Doctrine, which is of purely defensive character.

Paintings, thematically-related pictorial carpets, filigree jewelry made by Turkmen zergers (jewelers), and souvenirs are seen as the artistic interpretation of achievements in the modern epoch characterized by creative endeavors, continuity of national traditions, humanism and progress.
