A REGULAR MEETING OF THE JOINT INTERGOVERNMENTAL TURKMEN-KAZAKH COMMISSION ON ECONOMIC, SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL AND CULTURAL COOPERATION WAS HELD IN ASTANA

On March 11, 2019, the 10th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held in Astana, in which a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers M.Chakyyev took part.

The agenda of the meeting, which was also attended by the heads and leading specialists of several ministries and departments of the two countries, presented a wide range of issues related to the implementation of existing interstate agreements, as well as the priority directions for the further development of a productive partnership between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached on the results of the ninth meeting of the commission, held on May 3, 2017 in Ashgabat.

The meeting participants expressed confidence that the activities of the Commission will give a new powerful impetus to the further development of full-scale partnership in the trade-economic, energy and transport fields, in agriculture, food and processing industries. In particular, it was noted the need to take concerted measures to deepen trade and economic ties, increase export-import operations and expand the range and volumes of goods and services provided.

The sides also spoke in favor of deepening cultural, scientific and educational contacts and developing cooperation in science, culture and education.

As a result of the work of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation, the final protocol was signed.
