The Consul General of Turkmenistan met with the head of the United Nations Assistance Office in Afghanistan in Herat c.

On 8 April 2024, Consul General of Turkmenistan Batyr Yolov met with the new Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan office in Herat city, Ms Tomoka Kutoba.
At the beginning of the meeting B.Yolov congratulated Mrs Tomoka Kutoba on her appointment to this responsible post and expressed hope that her diplomatic activity will contribute to further development of cooperation between Afghanistan and the UN.
In turn, Tomoko Kutoba noted the importance of implementation of economic projects of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line and Turgundi-Herat railway aimed at socio-economic development of Afghanistan. The sides also emphasised Turkmenistan's active work to ensure peace, security and sustainable development in the region.
In addition, during the meeting, the sides expressed strong commitment to turning Afghanistan into a stable, peaceful and prosperous country and recognised the efforts of the international community to continue assisting the people of Afghanistan.
